Max
I brought a feather back from a nearby field today and the cats were thrilled! Of course I took some photos of it before I gave it to them...

Iago
Iago - Supposedly a barn cat, but I made the mistake of camping down in the tackroom when she was a kitten so she wouldn't become too wild and elusive. Well, it worked! Iago's sense of entitlement (to my warm bed, up in the house) is impressive. To bribe me to let her into the house, she brings me dead rats. Funnily enough, this does not always work. Seemingly, we are both somewhat conflicted about her role in life.

Cat in the wild
Today, as I was browsing through my contacts' photos, I noticed this cat capture in nature by Allezany. It reminded me of one of my own photos and inspired me to look for it in my archive and upload it. Thanks Shannon!
This is one of the cats my parents keep, shot in the countryside around their house, where the cats roam.

Foo Foo's Peaceful Again
After missing her scratching tower for one day she's back again at one with her favourite spot in the house!
It was honestly a fluke shot. I was having my breakfast when the cat was acting like an idiot on the scratch tower. I just happened to have the camera nearby as I was checking out some photo's taken earlier and well... you can see the result. Pays to have a camera handy eh!?

Cat Grass For Foo Foo
She moved quickly after this shot which is a shame as I wanted to get a better snap. That is cat grass. She loves chewing on this usually after meals as it helps with furr balls getting caught in her throat. Funny how she reacted to this grass despite never having seen it before. It's just embedded in their little cat brains!

Cat Days of Summer - Julie
Featured at www.flashpuzzlezone.com/jigsaw/animals/cats/tabby/
Let me tell you something about this cat - he is my everything.
Julie was my first cat. I remember the memory of seeing him peek his head out of the grove and running to tell my parents - his first meal (I'm sure besides mice and birds) was a bowl of milk. It's funny to look back at his first pictures and imagining what I call "before the cat boom" - feeding Julie in a giant pan instead of the styrofoam milk bowls he is entitled to today.
I remember the day I took Julie out on a collar and leash. He was such a trooper, he just walked right beside me - he trusted me.
I remember in his younger days he would run away for weeks at a time, never knowing if he would come back - but he always did. He knew where home was.
Julie has been with me pretty much my whole life. We've been through hard times and good times - Julie even has a song.
But, Julie was only the beginning. Who knew one cat would blossom into dozens and dozens of cats - a lifetime of memories.

"Richmond Animal Protection Society is a registered charity that rescues and cares for homeless and abandoned cats and kittens. Most of these beautiful animals would have otherwise faced starvation, injury, disease and an early death due to the many hazards in their environment."
"Our organization was founded 15 years ago by dedicated cat lovers who recognized the dangers to cats living on city streets, in alleys and industrial areas. There was no group helping the feral (wild) offspring of lost and abandoned cats."
"Cats that were wild, or tame but frightened, were quickly killed when taken to city animal control pounds. Unfortunately, that is still their fate in most North American cities."
